Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data JobCV collects, how it is used, and what rights you have over your information.

1. What We Collect

When you create an account we collect:

• Account data — your name, email address, and a bcrypt-hashed password.
• Resume & cover letter content — everything you enter in the builder (work history, skills, education, etc.).
• Profile photo — stored as base64 in the database if you upload one.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited). These are not linked to your account.

We do not collect payment card details — billing is handled entirely by our payment processor (Payriff).

2. How We Use It

We use your data exclusively to provide the JobCV service:

• Storing and displaying your resumes and cover letters
• Sending transactional emails (email verification, password reset)
• Maintaining your login session
• Improving platform performance and fixing bugs

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a MySQL database on servers provided by Hostinger. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All traffic between your browser and jobcv.az is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).

4. Cookies

We use only functional cookies — no advertising or cross-site tracking:

• Session cookie — keeps you logged in during your visit. Deleted when you close the browser (unless "Remember Me" is selected).
• remember_me — optional, 30-day login persistence. Set only if you tick "Remember Me" at login.
• lang — stores your preferred interface language (e.g. az, en). Valid for 6 months.

These cookies are necessary for the service to function correctly and do not require a consent banner under GDPR Recital 47.

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access & edit — view and update all your data in Account Settings and the Resume Builder at any time.
• Delete — deleting your account permanently removes all resumes, cover letters, and personal data from our servers.
• Portability — you can export your resume as PDF or Word at any time.

6. Third-Party Services

The following third-party resources are loaded on some pages and may log your IP address:

• Google Fonts — typography
• jsDelivr CDN — flag-icons library
• cdnjs — html2pdf.js (PDF export), PDF.js (CV import)

We have no control over the data these services collect. Refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Password reset tokens expire after 1 hour and are removed when a new reset is requested. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.
